I've always been fascinated by the behind the scenes of games, film and animation. I loved learning how creatures and environments were made. It's that love and curiosity for design and world building that lead me to 3D Model Making. I've been creating my own creatures and characters for years and bringing those designs to life here at IADT still feels surreal. Through this course I discovered a love for digital modelling and learned to use programs like 3DS Max, Blender, Unreal Engine 4 and more. This is why I chose to make a short demo game for my Final Year Project and bring my own story and characters to life digitally.
The goal of my project was to create a short game demo on the Unreal Engine. I wanted to show my skills in character design and world building from concept sketches and a loose idea to a finished, working product. Being able to create my own rigged and textured models, assets and effects for the game were an important part of this project for me.
Follow the player character, Viktor Valentine as he gathers the last few pieces he needs to make his familiar Spades and brings the little plush creature to life.
