BA [Hons] 3D Design Modelmaking + Digital Art

Hi there, I'm Alex. I am a visual artist based in Dublin. In my studies, I have learned various practical skills that allow me to bring my conceptual ideas to life! My main area of focus at the moment is: installation work, fashion styling and learning editorial & design work. Throughout my work I like to study how art and our environments effect us emotionally. My main passion is the use of mixed media as seen in this project. I have a deep interest in colour and contrasting textures, I like to play on people's perceptions of what is appealing. I would like to delve deeper into art direction and styling.

Repulsive Bunny

As a neurodivergent person I find the complexity of texture and emotion very captivating.

Throughout my work I have always had an interest to study how art and our environments affect us emotionally. In this project I wanted to cover all the human senses (excluding taste and smell) and see if I can influence people subconsciously and make them feel in a specific way.

I chose bunnies as just a base to have to experiment with materials and textures.

I've always had an unexplained liking to bunny rabbits visually, as in their form and shape and way of moving.

I think bunnies have a grace and innocence that can reconnect us to our child-like vulnerability and purity. Therefore, just by looking at a simple bunny, I feel like some would be vulnerable emotionally.
