My name is Sarah Byrne. I specialised in Character MakeUp Design in IADT on the BA in Design for Stage and Screen. Working in the TV and film industry has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. My passion for working in the industry has only grown over time with the experience I have gained on the many jobs working in the hair and makeup department during the past 4 years. I have gained experience working with the Irish National Opera, designing and creating silicone masks for music festivals, working on RTE shows in the makeup, hair and art department and Grad Films at IADT. My passion has only grown stronger with this experience and I welcome new projects

A verismo opera written by Ruggero Leoncavallo in 1892, an opera filled with humour, romance and dark violence. It depicts the life of a traveling acting troupe whose leader, out of an act of jealousy, murders his own wife and her lover while preforming in front of an audience.
I decided to design this with the intention of creating characters that could be seen within society, while also creating their clown personas that represent their emotions on the inside.
