Sydney Levene 

BA [Hons] Creative Music Production

My name is Sydney Levene. I’ve been playing and listening to music since I was 7 years old. I've always had a heavy interest in musical scores for films and video games. I love to create and write music as well as create intricate sound synths. I love to play my piano and my bass guitar when I have free time.

Project Description

The project was to try and evoke the experience of dementia through musical composition and arrangement. A short documentary was used to implement these ideas. The short film itself has themes of dementia, and through listening to the score, those feelings of a bygone era and memory loss are highlighted in the score. Below are some of the examples of music evoking the experience of dementia.

This thesis set out to turn illnesses like dementia into musical ideas and implement those ideas into the arrangement and composition of a musical piece.
