Hello! My name is Kane, and I am a 22-year-old music producer based in Dublin. I specialise in production on a client-to-client basis. I have previously done work in composition, songwriting, mixing, and mastering. I recently began my own production company with my business partner and fellow student, Mark Butler. Over the last 4 years, I have gained skills that have allowed me to further my career to new heights I could not imagine previously. In the future, I want to keep reaching more creative heights.
This project sought to understand how to creatively fulfil clients as a music producer, and how to "get the best" out of them in order to further the results of a collaboration.
The objectives of this project were to produce a five song EP with a band, along with some general research on how to utilise another person's creativity within a collaboration.
Unfortunately, the project did not go to plan. Due to unforeseen circumstances and general misbehaviour on the client's part, only two songs were completed out of the five originally planned. A pivot was done in the research to then understand what went wrong, why it went wrong, and what could be learned from the situation.
How Does the Role of a Producer Contribute to and Shape the Perception of Creativity in the Context of Music Production?
