Shrine Seeker is a Puzzle-Adventure game that takes inspiration from the old-school 2D Legend of Zelda titles from the 90's and early 2000's. Armed with nothing but a sword and their wits, the player must navigate their way through a temple full of various puzzles and challenges that they must overcome to make it to the end.
The game is designed to test the players intelligence and overall game sense through the use of thought provoking puzzles and difficult combat scenarios. The player is given little to no assistance outside of their sword in order to create a more engaging experience.

The overall objective of the project was to explore the concept of nostalgia. Nostalgia as an emotion is fascinating and has now become much more widespread since the pandemic as people sought out their childhood interests during lockdown. This is what lead to the creation of this project!

Hello, I'm Ben, a final year student in Creative Computing! I've been a massive fan of games for as long as I can remember, playing games of all shapes on sizes. In my spare time I love to develop 2D games, you are about to see one of those games. I have experience in both Unity and Godot, and I'm now learning how to develop within Unreal Engine 5.
