4th Year Role: Specialist

In my 4th and final year, I chose to become a specialist in order to put more work in areas that I am interested in, as well as developing these skills further. During this time, I collaborated with 2 of my classmates. For one, I helped with creating the storyboard, studying animals for the characters in the short film (specifically bisons and wolves), making a character sheet for said bison and drawing a few backgrounds. For the other, I specialized as a 2D animator and did a few shots for their short film.

Thesis: The Evolution of Game and Movie Adaptations: How the Video Game Industry Shaped Cinema and Beyond

This thesis examines the significant impact of the video game industry on the film industry, with a particular focus on game-to-film and film-to-game adaptations. The relationship between these two fields has transformed narrative structures and visual techniques in both mediums, as technological advancements have allowed for the creation of more immersive experiences. By analyzing key moments in the history of the video game industry, including early interactive games, technological breakthroughs, and the rise of adaptations, this work aims to evaluate the challenges and successes of these crossover collaborations. Moreover, the thesis examines how video games have not only influenced films, but have also reshaped modern cinema by introducing innovative narrative practices and new forms of audience engagement. It examines the reciprocal influence, arguing that despite early failures and mixed feedback, the ongoing evolution of both fields offers exciting possibilities for future adaptations. Ultimately, this work highlights the transformative role of video games in shaping contemporary film, offering new creative avenues and expanding the artistic and technical boundaries of both industries.

BA (Hons) Animation

Hi! My name is Ilinca and I am an aspiring artist who would love to become a part of the animation and video game industries in the future. I enjoy working in a lot of pre-production roles, such as character designer, storyboard artist and background artist. I also love creating illustrations that express my thoughts and feelings through cool characters that wear cool outfits (I love fashion). Lastly, I've started animating a few years ago and I'm enjoying it more and more with each project.

Can't wait to learn more and evolve as a creative person! :))
