As Fionn patiently awaits his inevitable end on a lonely island, an innocent voice disrupts his peace and leads him back to the beginning...
'Anam' is a four minute animated short film directed by Muireann Mulvihill and Ailbhe Fearon.

This project originated from a desire to celebrate Irish language and culture through animation.
Initially conceived as a pitch for The Big Pitcher at Animation Dingle in 2023, the project evolved significantly. During an artists residency on the island of Inis Oírr, we expanded our research and visual development, and deepened our connection to the story.
Throughout the entire production of Anam, our goal was to create a project that we were proud of and people would be excited to work on with us.
We're very grateful for our amazing team who brought their passion, dedication and soul to this project.
Every frame is a collage of countless contributions from our team, our mentors and our friends.

This thesis will analyse the finales of three of Damien Chazelle’s films and how they use various theories of montage to create impactful finale crescendos.
As a video thesis, this study will not only analyse but also visually and aurally demonstrate the powerful synchronization of music and imagery that defines Chazelle’s climactic sequences, showing how they go beyond traditional storytelling to provoke thought and emotion.
