Eureka

What if we could travel without moving? What if we could see our everyday routine in a new way to see new things. Eureka is an initiative that helps you re-discover and re-imagine the area around you through simple daily activities of psychogeography. Psychogeography explores the psychological effects of geographical environments on individuals and their behaviours. Eureka’s activities, delivered through a microsite and campaign, can help if you feel stuck in a rut in your daily routine. Explore the simplicity in the mundane with the support of Eureka!

How can we break up the mundanity of everyday life?

From conversations with my friends/family we've noticed a trend of the rise of people moving abroad/wanting to travel. In simple terms, people are always craving change. However travelling is time-consuming, expensive and also has an impact on the climate crisis. Therefore, I was looking at how we can reap the benefits of travelling while minimising our movement, making travelling a lot more simple and accessible. This all motivated me to engage in psychogeography and see how this can be applied to people's daily life. Through re-exploring with techniques of psychogeography, we can discover new things and have little moments of discovery, hence the name Eureka.

Thesis: Does Christianity have a place here ?: Analysing Celebrities use of Christian Iconography In a Contemporary Context

This thesis examines the different ways religious iconography particularly
Christianity visual assets are used in pop culture. It explores the concept of parody, pastiche and homage and how these concepts are applied to music artists' usage of religious iconography. It discusses whether consciously or not there is a reason for one to use religious iconography. It compares different uses of media regarding religious iconography and how this decision has the power to impact how society views this. It also analyses the relationship between the celebrity and work they created using religious iconography.
