Who Lived Here?

The ‘Who Lived Here’ documentary explores the unique architectural history of Eithne’s childhood home in rural Monaghan. Built in 1999 by astronomer and author Bill Napier, the house’s unconventional design–centred around the stars rather than the sun–served as the focal point for a narrative-driven short documentary. Through this project, Eithne aimed to create a participatory documentary, drawing inspiration from Mark Cousins to blend subjectivity and storytelling.

Eithne is a recent graduate, having just completed her fourth and final year in New Media Studies. Drawn to the more raw and visual aspects of the course, she finds fulfilment in creating content that invokes any form of emotional response in the audience. Eithne enjoys capturing and savouring quiet, intimate moments in her own life and those around hers. Human mundanity and connection are all documented in her YouTube videos. During her third year, Eithne participated in the Erasmus+ programme, studying marketing and communications with #GetConnected at RUAS in Rotterdam. This experience introduced her to a diverse network of creatives, broadening her overall perspective and honing her creative approach.
