For my final year project, I spoke on the evolution of YouTube and the consequences of the oversaturated creator economy online. For this, I delved into the long history of YouTube, trends in content creation, the evolution of content creation and case studies of online content creators resorting to unethical means just to foster engagement as a result of the oversaturated creator economy as well as systems put into place by platforms. I speak on just how popular and accessible it has become to be an online content creator, while also touching on content creator behaviors as a result of the state of the creator economy.

I wanted to delve into how as time has gone on, online content creators have resorted to more intense and unethical means to foster engagement for their content.
Show that the overpopulation of online content creators has had permanent consequences on the digital landscape
Showed the evolution of YouTube
Show the essential moments in YouTube's history that would go on to influence an oversaturated creator economy.
For my thesis, I wrote about how the creator economy has become oversaturated as the years have passed and why it's become this way, while also giving case studies of creators who have resorted to unethical means to gain engagement on the YouTube platform.
