To record and professionally produce two tracks at different tempos to investigate the difference in listener engagement; this means playing songs at different speeds to determine why a person's interest would change.

Project Objectives

Hypothetical hypothesis - fast songs evoke motivation and energy, slow songs evoke calmness and relaxation.

Record and produce two tracks at a slow tempo and a fast tempo and manipulate the tempos to test engagement. Survey two groups to prove/ disprove the theory.

Project Outcomes

Two professionally mixed tracks, survey completed from two groups investigating the hypothesis proposed.

Thesis: How does different tempos in different songs affect a listeners emotion

This thesis included research of Nu-Metal music production in reference to Deftones as well as how different tempos affect a person's engagement within music. Methodology - procedure on how to achieve the two tracks with recording and mixing as well as survey analysis on the results.
