Blood Ties is a heavily fantasy-inspired short film exploring the relationship between vampire Carmen, and her former close friend turned enemy, vampire hunter Abigail. We learn through their past together through a series of flashbacks, meanwhile they try to reconcile their feelings for each other in the present.
My aim in creating Blood Ties was to bring to life a project that would showcase my interest in dark fantasy and allow me to explore the visuals and conventions of the genre through my film, and specifically through my character and environment designs.
Creating this project has been a valuable and rewarding experience that has allowed me to bring Blood Ties from a loose idea to a fleshed-out, albeit short, story. Seeing the film evolve and having the opportunity to push my storytelling and animation skills has made working on Blood Ties an enjoyable and educational process.
