A collaborative platform combining real-time chatting, and a document-aware AI assistant. Lectern lets users form groups and upload or link files, which are then processed and used as a knowledge basis for AI to answer any questions.
The goal was to help teachers manage classroom environments, and to help student search for crucial information such as deadlines, and provide them with a learning tool which could answer any of their their questions with reliable information.
The result is a hosted web-app with groups, channels, private chats, note taking, real-time chat between users, a pipeline designed to process uploaded files and user AI queries, to provide source-based answers. It also includes OneDrive integration for easier file upload, mobile-friendly design, and night mode support.
