Lara C. Rosello
Lara focused her last year of college exploring the art of stop motion.
Her major project, "Arcade", is a 3 minute stop motion. Lara wrote the script, came up with the character and set designs, storyboarded and directed the animation. "Arcade" tells the story of two friends spending their last day of summer together in an abandoned arcade. This project allowed her to collaborate with a bigger crew across different diciplines to bring this project to life.
Her minor project involved mixing physical media with digital environment. She created a 30 second short where Robbie stretches before jumping into a big and scary a swimming pool. The environment was created in Blender whilst the puppet was a physical model.

Lara co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced the short film "Record Scratch", a love at first sight cheesy romantic comedy. Lara is a character driven storyteller with an emphasis on unique world-building. She enjoys working on a diverse range of projects, which allows her to see things through different lenses, always bringing new perspectives to every project she works on.
Lara produced the Kodak Ad "The Mood Killer", a campaign from Brook to promote safe sex. I worked with the director to create a stylised, humorous, and socially relevant piece. It’s a playful twist on genre tropes and sexual stigma, using parody to promote a positive message about safe sex. This project reflects my passion for genre storytelling and high-concept ideas.
My thesis explores this intricate process through the lens of Stephen King’s works and their adaptations, a body of work that spans nearly five decades and reflects the changing landscapes of both literature and cinema. Focusing on Carrie,The Shining, and The Green Mile, this thesis examines how themes of isolation, exclusion, and societal pressures transform when reimagined for the screen.
It delves into the nuanced differences in character portrayals, narrative pacing, and cultural significance across adaptations, questioning why some succeed as timeless cinematic gems while others fade. By analysing these adaptations within their historical and social contexts, I aim to uncover how filmmakers interpret and translate King’s richly textured worlds. This work also critiques the broader implications of adaptation, including issues of representation, creative liberties, and the tension between artistic expression and commercial imperatives.

Lara always shows passion and energy. Her skills include pre production, writing, storyboarding, character and set design, directing and producing. She is excited to pursue her filmmaking career to tell everything from heart warming stories to dark, absurd dramas.
Her top four favourite films include "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain", "Toy Story 3", "Lord of the rings: The fellowship of The Ring" and "Mary and Max".
