Set in a world ruled by dinosaur humanoids, this project explores the mythology and spiritual power of an ancient civilization through the design of three ceremonial weapons and a sacred energy source. Each weapon contains a gemstone forged from a colossal rock formation believed to connect the leaders of the civilization to their spiritual ancestors.
Together, the weapons unlock the full power of the formation, transforming it into a radiant ceremonial site that serves as both a spiritual altar and the centre of their political power. Created for film, the project focuses on cinematic prop design and environmental storytelling, combining detailed hero weapons with a large-scale set piece to build a visually rich and immersive world.
Ellen is a Modelmaking and Design for Film graduate who enjoys bringing imagined worlds to life through hands-on making and visual storytelling. Her work is rooted in fantasy and mythology, often drawing inspiration from ancient cultures, creatures, and natural forms to create cinematic yet believable designs.
Her practice is interested in how props and environments can carry narrative meaning, building character, history, and emotion within a film world. This is reflected in her major project, which explores themes of power, legacy, and spirituality in a prehistoric fantasy setting.
She values experimentation, material exploration, and detail, aiming to create immersive, tactile work with story embedded in every design.
