Lena Birgisdóttir
For my major project I chose to design the secret library in the house of wind, mentioned in the book, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sara. J Maas. Taking inspiration from Gothic architecture I approached it as a labyrinth, keeping the lighting moody to emphasize that it is set underground.
My realized project was the design and build of the TV pilot, City Upon A Hill by Kevin Morthorst. Partnered with Chloe Butler, we saw the project through to the end, everything from conceptual sketches, graphics, paint finishes and prop sourcing.

Lena Birgisdóttir is a multidisciplinary designer from Iceland.
Lena discovered her passion for production design during her time working in the art department at The Nation Theater of Iceland. The ability to transform space and atmosphere through design drew Lena to further her education at IADT. In the design for film course, Lena honed her skills in drafting, 3D modeling, and storyboarding. In addition to taking part in two studio builds, collaborating with the TV course.
Lena is ambitious to further her career in both film and theatre, finding a way to potentially blur the boundaries between the two worlds by incorporating everything she has gained from her time at IADT.
