I designed what I believe an adaptation of Brecht's play 'The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui' into a film would look like. Its set in 1930s Chicago following gangsters taking over the local vegetable trade. The play is a commentary on Hitlers rise to power. My designs were heavily inspired the Streamline Moderne era as well as Industrial designers.
My Poor Boy
This was a NFS Grad Film written and directed by Luke Curley that myself and Ciara Walsh did the production design for. It follows a lonely young man who's struggling to express his emotions and has a strained relationship with his father. We follow him along with his imaginary friend/idol 1980s wrestler 'Ray Violence'. This was a really fun and interesting world to design and create for; getting into the mind of a troubled young man through bright almost childish primary colours and decor.
Rouge
This was a collaborative project I did with three other fourth year students Alice Jolyet- Cunningham, Muireann O'keeffe and Laura Maleady. We had to design a bar that could suit 4 separate Tv Dramas in Collaboration with third year Tv students. This was a studio build that involved a total of 4 different sets a bar, exterior fire exit, bathroom and bedroom. A combination of these different sets were used for each drama. The bar had a modern speakeasy vibe.
In this thesis I explore the importance of lighting within film and how it helps
expand the audiences understanding and reception of both plot and
character. I have chosen and analysed specific films that represent various
uses of lighting in film in particular coloured lighting and its psychological and
physiological effects on the viewer, how specific forms of lighting can
represent aspects of a character and how light can be used to build and
depict worlds. I use a combination of academic sources, visual analyses of
films and interviews from the minds behind these lighting choices in order to
portray my points. I want to show that by simply putting some extra thought
into lighting film you can achieve an interesting and useful layer to the art of

Faye is an emerging Production Designer based in Dublin/Meath. During her studies she has learned a wide range of skills from software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vray, Photoshop and Illustrator to model making, drawing, painting and constructing sets.
She has also spent a lot of time on sets in collaboration with The National Film School students as well as outside of college doing gig stages, music videos and art department work at Apple Tv and Ardmore Studios. Through this she has lots of experience with set dressing and stand by art direction.
She hopes to design for many different things such as Film and Tv, Theatre, Concerts/Gigs, Music videos, Festivals and anything else that might come her way.
