My Body Remembers What I Can't.

'My Body Remembers What I Can’t.', is an installation of 5 video projections, with audio and a spoken word piece accessible through headphones. It centres around the internal victim experience of sexual assault, post-act. Each projected video represents the external coping methods formed to help reduce anxiety, some more self-destructive than others. The audio that fills the space, and the fast-paced style of editing, create a sense of dis-ease. Hidden at the back of the space is a projection of a human figure. This performance encapsulates the vulnerability of the self. Spoken word plays through headphones taking the viewer away from the space and into the mind of the figure. The work serves as a confrontation, a catharsis and a release.
