Ronica Miguel
This project revolves around a personal connection to the past, culture and immigration. As a first-generation immigrant, Ronica hopes to uncover the complex emotions and the feelings that come with being in a different country, far away from the motherland. With elements of mixed media including found objects, wires and ceramics, this artwork hopes to convey the emotions that arise from never being able to fully integrate two cultures.
Ronica Miguel is a Filipino Irish visual artist based in Dublin who works primarily in mixed media, sculpture, and illustration. Her current work focuses on first-generation immigrants and the problems that come with inviting yourself into a culture that wasn’t originally your own. This is explored through mixed media, found objects and anatomical abstraction. Ronica invites the viewer to gather the pieces and figure out the story as it unfolds. She has exhibited in **Down the Road, Around the Corner**, Pallas Projects/Studios (2026), **Better than Ambrosia**, curated by Dylan Yearsley at the Orangery at Marlay Park (2025), and **The Place Project**, IMMA Studios (2023).
