Séamus Mulcahy
Séamus’s work is a reflection of his interest in storytelling. Influenced by the book Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance and inspired by the loss of his grandfather, this project focuses on relationships with male role models. Based on personal photographs, the small scale charcoal drawings depict isolated and shared moments of the passing down of passions between male family members, a common masculine expression of care and love. This series of drawings of his grandfather, dad and himself tells a story through the generations of connection, passion and time together, emphasising the importance of relationships in the creation of valuable treasured memories, and their fundamental role in shaping of our past, present and future.
