Síofra Ní Bhroin
Síofra's pieces arrange delicate and fragile fabric juxtaposed with strong metal forms. The fabric is delicate and fragile, while her metal forms are simple, strong and definite. She enjoys the playfulness of delicate materials and the fragility of memory that is held within people. Her most recent piece focuses on admirable women in her life and their sentimental attachments to specific belongings. She is fascinated by object attachment and the human desire to either hold on to or let go of objects. Ambiguous steel shapes create a structured and domestic scene, referring to the unchanging spaces in which multiple memories are hosted. The scene allows these materials to explore and interact with each other.

Síofra Ní Bhroin is a Dublin-based artist with a current devotion to exploring the act of seeking emotional solace from material objects. Her work also explores themes such as the relationship between globalism and vernacular dereliction in Ireland, as well as her personal exploration into existentialism and loss of purpose when disconnected from the land. Working primarily with natural dyes, fabric and metal through sculpture, installation and drawing, she creates diverse yet analogous installations. Her sculptural arrangements pull from lived experiences, traditions, and senses. She composes them into enigmatic arrangements of objects and forms favouring welding and sewing.
