Aisling Keogh

BA [Hons] Film + Television Production

My name is Aisling Keogh and I am a screenwriting major with a minor in production. I have spent my final year working behind a number of different projects, including the completion of my first feature film. I have thoroughly enjoyed the writing process across all of my projects and the pre-production side of the television shows. These departments are ones I hope to pursue further after graduation.

Graphite on Canvas - Writer

My main project was ‘Graphite on Canvas’, directed by Jaka Prosenik and produced by Hana Mohamed.
It deals with themes of loneliness, isolation and friendship. This story was written for the director as an ode to his home country of Slovenia, and as such we worked closely in developing the story.

A Study on Adaptations for Screen

This thesis studies adaptation and the techniques needed to create a cohesive and engaging adaptation.
It is split into three chapters: the adaptation of the novel, adapting true life, and adapting theatre for the screen.
Each chapter studied a writing technique and case study to investigate closely. I learned so much about adaptation and the skills needed to curate a perfect balance between screen and page. As someone who wishes to pursue a career writing, undergoing this research was extremely helpful for my field.
