Hi. My name is Mary Nangle and I have recently completed the Applied Psychology undergraduate course. I chose to do the practice path of the course and my areas of interest include neuropsychology, organisational psychology, and social psychology. I hope to further my knowledge of these topics in the future. My thesis looked at the effectivity of stress management interventions on stress in the workplace. In the future, I hope to further my knowledge and education on my areas of interest.

Project Description

Project Description: I conducted my major research project on stress management interventions in the workplace. This has always been an area of interest of mine.

Project Objectives: This major research project investigated the effectivity of stress management interventions on stress in the workplace. It looked at a range of interventions from meditation-based interventions, relaxation-based interventions to physical activity-based interventions. 10 papers were included in the final review.

Project Outcomes: This systematic review found that all types of stress management interventions were beneficial for participants. Meditation based interventions were the most researched type of intervention. Various factors affect the effectivity of interventions for example duration and engagement.

I found this project to be very interesting to complete.
