Hi! I’m Ellie. I am a multi-disciplinary designer with a passion for storytelling, playful illustration and problem-solving. I approach each project in a unique way by making visual language based on the concept through research. This is reflected in my major project, creating visuals and writing copy to appeal to children to learn more about pet care. I’m always looking to expand my skill set, and I’m excited to put my creativity to work in the industry.
The Pet Care Kit, designed for dog care, empowers children to actively nurture their beloved pets. Equipped with essential tools and guidance, it fosters a deeper understanding of a dog's needs and encourages shared responsibility within the household. This enriches the child's experience, fostering a sense of fulfilment in caring for their pet. The kit educates children on the importance of treating pets with care and understanding their cues, enabling them to play an active role in their pet's well-being rather than leaving it solely to the parents or guardians.
This thesis explores the star image and persona of Taylor Swift, who was initially considered an 'American Sweetheart' in the music industry. From the early 2000s to the present day, this study investigates her enormous impact on a variety of age groups, emphasising her musical achievement and her strategic control over her public image. Through investigating crucial points in her visual change, and synthesising the visual appearances of her album covers and other images. The research examines celebrity culture, remaining relevant in the music industry, Swift’s political awakening and the retaliation for her music being sold without her consent.
