BA [Hons] Photography

Faye has strived to create their own unique style through the use of photography, videography and typography. Faye has created an exhibit in which the viewer becomes part of the installation rather than an observer, allowing them to place themselves within the mind of both the photographer and the photographed. They have experimented with the manipulation of space by including sculpture and furniture which are significant to the narrative told throughout this project.

Project Description

This project explores the relationship between neurodiversity and addiction with input from my own struggles. It is paired with an underlying narrative of self harm and the relationship the subject has with a deteriorating body and mind.

This project is titled ‘I Can’t Brush My Teeth Anymore’ and is originally inspired by a poem written by Faye in early 2022.

Accompanied by a short film the images are meant to convey the discomfort felt within one’s own body and the shame that is felt towards oneself brought on by past decisions.
