Luke Doyle

Design for Stage + Screen

Luke is a production designer who is interested and involved in the physical side of creating film and theatre sets. He has spent the last four years learning skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, white card and model making, and has spent a lot of time in the workshop helping construct and bring projects and ideas into the real world. In 2024 he was part of the production design team and head of construction for the RIAM & IADT opera. As head of construction Luke was responsible for the building of the set pieces, sourcing materials, the get-ins and the get-outs, along with corresponding and meeting directly with the director and production manager.

Production and set design for the operas Postcard from Morocco and Cendrillon

This was a collaborative project between multiple disciplines to design and construct 2 operas for RIAM to preform in the Project Arts Centre. Luke was part of the production team responsible for designing the set and was head of construction and physical builds. The set served both plays, one an abstract piece set in a train station where the actors are trapped in a panicked limbo waiting for the train that never shows up, and the other, a humorous French version of the classic Cinderella story.
