Hi, I’m Niamh, an animator and artist based between Westmeath and Dublin. Here you will find a compilation of work that I have produced during my time at IADT. Specialising in 2D animation, I also enjoy working across different stages of production and using a variety of techniques to bring stories to life with an imaginative, expressive, and emotive approach.
This year, I specialised in 2D animation, collaborating with my classmates across six projects. This was an excellent opportunity to animate different characters, improve my animation skills, and work in a range of styles. My animation is featured in Stay Awake (Dir. Aoife O’Byrne), Reboot (Dir. Georgia Giffin), First Day (Dir. Wren Petkov & Michelle Saal), Children at Play (Dir. Laura Mahon) and Rail Against (Dir. Sean O’Boyle).
I also worked on visual development and colour design for Gardens (dir. Henry Downes). I used a combination of digital and traditional media to develop the visual style of the project, with a focus on bringing a handmade, storybook-style quality to the film.
My primary focus for my final year was to use a variety of skills & techniques across the projects I worked on, to achieve each director’s vision for their film. I am enthusiastic about trying new things and love a challenge; I really enjoyed collaborating with my classmates on their projects. This portfolio aims to showcase the varied skill set that I have developed during my time at IADT.
