Ross Bradley

BA [Hons] Art

Born in County Wexford, Ross Bradley has always had a passion for the arts, especially storytelling and drama. Over the past 4 years, he has studied fine arts by utilizing techniques in drawing with graphite. Techniques to produce works in a hyperrealist and surrealistic nature, he has always been interested in the concepts behind his work, more than the visuals. Working in Dublin for periods of time and moving abroad from Wexford, his recent work touches on the idea of moving away, and learning to accept change.

Project Description

The project focuses on the idea of traveling and learning to accept the idea of change. It gives the viewer an insight into universal feelings that are attributed to traveling, leaving behind old locations, and even realizing that all things must pass. Using a technique to blur reality on the page, to represent the idea of memories, and how one recalls past events, and people. To compare the blurry and the detailed is like comparing the past to the present, which I touch on in this project. Drawing from experience of moving away from home, I developed these works based on location, people, and even senses that I once felt, like touch or sight, now have become a blurry memory.
