Hi! I'm Seán, and I'm passionate about using graphic design as a tool to help people address real-world problems and communicate compelling and engaging stories. Over the past four years, I have balanced college life with freelance design work, including working with The Football Association of Ireland and digital design agency Fifty–Three Six. In 2023, I interned with SO Studio in Dublin. Throughout my time with these companies, I've gained invaluable experience across a variety of projects and had the pleasure of working with great people. I'm excited about the next step after college!
The Big Spread is a food market that travels across Ireland during International Food Week, celebrating the international communities that enrich Irish food culture. "Inclusivity is Tasty!" is the message of The Big Spread, created in response to rising levels of right-wing sentiment across Ireland. The Big Spread food markets give local immigrant-owned food businesses the opportunity to showcase their cuisine in prominent locations like main streets and town squares. The markets allow communities to bond over their love for food and meet their international neighbours, who enrich Irish food culture.
The aim of this thesis is to explore the renewed interest in spirituality and faith during the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, how this interest manifested itself through social media and the digital marketplace. The writing discusses how significant Christian organisations in the U.K. and the U.S. have utilised digital platforms and contemporary branding techniques to spread their beliefs digitally to followers during a time of unprecedented crisis. My thesis specifically explores the impact of modern digital faith communication on younger audiences.
