The BA (Hons) 3D Design, Modelmaking and Digital Art is a multidisciplinary programme focused on the creative screen arts. It encourages students to experiment with character design, world-making, animation, and visual storytelling across real, virtual, and digital environments. The broad and ambitious scope of the programme is reflected in the work of the students graduating in 2022. Despite the adversity this group has faced now for two years, the students have thrived and produced a broad range of work that was truly evocative, imaginative, and profound. Their final projects showcased a diverse range of responses to the field of model making and three-dimensional design. Including world building, 3D printing, props for movies, games, and performance.
The BA (Hons) 3D Design, Modelmaking and Digital Art programme benefits from close alignment with the National Film School at IADT. Graduates go on to work as event designers, model makers in the film, TV, theatre, spectacle arts and experience design industries, as architectural modellers, art directors, animators and character designers in the animation industry, art teachers and in the digital FX and games industries.
