Liam Conroy

BSc [Hons] Creative Computing

Creative Computing graduate as of 2022. I studied both Web Development and Game Design during the course and have gained a proficiency and a passion for both! Game Design became the focus of my work as I sought to create a game for my final year project.

Steel Cavalry

The purpose of this project was to create an application for current VR devices and how it might differ from a traditional PC game. To explore this, I decided upon the concept of a Tank Simulator. The gameplay of which will involve the player assuming the role of every crew member inside the Tank. For example, the commander, loader, gunner, and driver. All controls within the hull of the tank can be physically interacted with.

Exploring Game Development in Virtual Reality

My thesis covers the early history of VR devices from the 1960's to the present, and discusses issues that VR currently has. Other VR games were also researched to analyse what made them succesful.
The remainder of the thesis then covers the development of the project through the Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing, and Project Management sections.
