Samuel Bernad is a cinematographer and film editor from Zaragoza, Spain and a final year student at the National Film School, Dún Laoghaire. Samuel’s works are characterised by precise aesthetic sharpness, technical ability and a unique visual strength. He prospers in working with passionate and cooperative teams and is always looking for a challenge in something new. His commitment has contributed to his experience in production, making him responsive to ever-changing situations and challenges on set.
As my Main Project in my area of specialisation, I worked as a cinematographer for the grad film Grind. I had the luck of working with very talented people in my team.
In this psychedelic and psychological horror, the cinematography establishes and immerses the viewer in a mysterious dark city.
Many scenes happen in different claustrophobic and dirty places where the illumination is key to
achieving the true essence of a psychological thriller.
