BA [Hons] Visual Communication Design

Graduates of the BA (Hons) Visual Communication Design leave IADT with the broad range of skills and competencies required of modern designers. Design informs and assists us in everything we do. From screen to print to environmental design, digital environments, photography, book making, video, motion graphics, and much, much more, our graduates are highly sought after in Ireland and internationally because they are so well versed in the synthesis of multiple media. They are relevant and authentic designers who have achieved a high standing of skill-based industry experience as part of their 4-year degree. They are holistic designers who can successfully negotiate any media to find solutions to diverse and complex problems.

The world around us and how we interact will be shaped by designers. They have an innovative attitude and approach to the potential for graphic design in interdisciplinary practice. The graduate class of 2021 will be an important part of that future.

The projects presented by the graduates in the On Show exhibition represent the culmination of the student’s studies over the four years of their degree programme. It offers an opportunity to fully engage with and explore an area of particular interest, to draw upon the range of skills and design languages developed to critically question and gain insights while proposing, speculating, and hypothesising possible answers and solutions. Ultimately, the project effectively communicates to its chosen audience through the lens of graphic design.
The Department of Design and Visual Arts is delighted to present the work of the graduate class of 2021.
