An analysis of the sound in the film Alien (1979) directed by Ridley Scott, asking how is the sound design of the film used to build the setting? Does the sound design help build-up the tension and surprise of the scene? Does the sound complement the images on screen and if it does, how so? What were the intentions of the filmmakers in regards to how they wanted the audience to feel towards the scene through the use of its sound? How does the audience feel/react/think in relation to the sound and to find out information about the making of the sound in the film through my research.
