Project Description

The Pigeon Problem is an exhibition and accompanying awareness campaign that will engage with the public and offer them a unique insight into pigeons' lives and history with humanity. We need to give pigeons the respect that they deserve. Everyone hates pigeons. They are “the rats of the sky”, “disease-ridden” scourges in our urban landscapes. In reality, the rich history we share with pigeons and how pigeons continue to interact with humanity can change perceptions of the common pigeon. The Pigeon Problem aims to educate and inform the public about the importance of pigeons in our history and urban ecology. To give people the opportunity to see pigeons through a fresh lens which will allow them to view them with sympathy, love, and respect.
