Arkadiusz Kania

BA [Hons] 3D Design Modelmaking + Digital Art

Hello! My name is Arkadiusz Kania and I'm a 3d generalist concentrating on character & creature design, model-development and animation. Since I was little I was fascinated with old school horror games like Amnesia, Silent Hill and Resident Evil. That fascination; which I'm carrying on with me to this day, propels me to create nightmarish creatures and ghouls, as well as improving my craft of developing video games to later join the triple-A gaming industry.

Project: Asylum Home - The Game

Asylum Home; the game I made as part of my final year project, is a horror-adventure sidescroller teaser that would be used as a demonstration to later produce a fully functional video game inside of a proper studio.
As a person who in the future aspires to join the video game industry, this game is a demonstration of my abilities as well as skills.
Influenced by games like Little Nightmares, Limbo and Okami, the center-point aesthetics are reminiscent of the 1920s German Expressionism. This allows to amplify certain emotions and reactions of the player by having these emotions reflected on the given surrounding in an exaggerated manner, basically shifting the "reality" to suit the necessary emotion.

Thesis: An Analysis of Polish Fashion and Culture During The Soviet Era

My thesis subject is disconnected from my project, which gave me freedom of vary certain topics within both my project and thseis.

The thesis subject was about fashion, and how fashion during the Polish-Soviet Era reflects the two opposing cultural forces at play. The first being the authoritative Soviet rule while, the other being the opposing force against that rule; the Polish community.
It is a cultural analysis as to the relationship between fashion as well as fashion trend, and as to how they were tied to these two cultural forces during the Polish-Soviet Era.
