Morna McCullagh

BA [Hons] Visual Communication Design

Hi I’m Morna. I’m on the way to becoming a Graphic designer with a focus on print, visual identities and thoughtful design. I am motivated by using design to highlight societal issues. Typography is always a central part of my work. Screen-printing and making for leisure, I love a good project.

Project Description

Wan’s are the Irish Women who have spoken out for others when they did not have a voice.

The project is a series of books to record their words and celebrate their outspokenness, not make apologies for it. Significant changes in Irish history and women’s rights were brought about by women who went out and fought for these causes. You may not find some of these women included in all historical or feminist discourse, but the contributions they made to society cannot be denied.

The series begins with the legendary Bernadette Devlin McAliskey and Nell McCafferty. The project outcomes include, the first book in the series and promotional campaign. The aim of the project is to inspire and empower women. It is important we acknowledge other women's  achievements as they have helped us all to be heard.
