Ruairí Coughlan

BA [Hons] Film + Television Production

Ruairí Coughlan has written several features and pilots, while also having directed and produced many projects during his time at the NFS. His graduate project KNO News is a half hour comedy pilot about the crew and contributors of a dystopian news show. Originally a studio based sketch show, COVID-19 forced Ruairí to reinvent the show as a sitcom with some of the original show’s sketches reincorporated. Now completed, KNO News stands as a showcase of Ruairí’s ability to organise, creatively solve problems and use his own initiative to drive a project forward. It’s also really funny. Project Description

KNO News is a half hour satirical sitcom, written, produced and directed by Ruairí Coughlan. With a mix of traditional shooting and Zoom filmmaking, KNO News is a hilarious example of the possibilities of television when it's given limitations.
