I am a final year Creative Media Technologies student at IADT with a passion for music technology and production. My project is in the realm of Assistive Music Technology, which has been something I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to grips with throughout my final year in IADT.
COLOURsound is a music performance software application that is aimed at allowing people with disabilities express themselves creatively through the medium of music.
Users can make use of two different inputs to allow them to trigger musical loops with loops being triggered in conjunction with a sequencer thereby ensuring an engaging and pleasant listening experience for the user. This project was created using MAX 8 and now runs as a standalone .exe file.
My thesis detailed the construction of the COLOURsound project from its conception to its final iteration, with the various technologies being explained in detail along with the different prototypes which shaped the final application.
