I am a final year Creative Media Technologies student. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and am excited to pursue a career using my accredited award. I plan to work in Data Analytics after completing my final year project in this area. Further down the line I might pursue post graduate work in this area at home or perhaps abroad.

An example of a dashboard which filters accidents using sex of driver, location and the month the accident occurred.
An example of a dashboard which filters accidents by county, month, severity of injury, type of collision and if the accident occurred on a National Route.
An example of a basic dashboard which includes a bar chart of the number of accidents classified by accident category. This bar chart is dynamically linked to the map and when a user selects a bar the corresponding accidents on the map are highlighted.
Another dashboard which uses a bar chart to display the number of accidents by hour of day. A multiple line graph is also shown displaying the severity of accident by year.
The raw data prior to being brought into Tableau.
The application GridInQuest was used to transform the Road Safety Authority (RSA) X and Y easting and northing coordinates to longitude and latitude values. This transformation is required in order for Tableau to generate a map.

A Data Visualization Project Based On Road Traffic Accidents in Ireland

This project is a visual representation of road traffic accidents in Ireland. Raw data was checked, cleaned, transformed and imported to the data visualisation software Tableau. The application allows users to find patterns and insights into accidents allowing raw data to be transformed into meaningful knowledge.
