Ethan is a musician and cinematographer from Dublin. With a background as a stunt performer, he is cursed with a boundless adrenaline that permeates every strata of his work. He fuses sound, texture, movement, colour, and hidden frequencies to craft rich audio-visual tapestries that breathe and flow with the pulse of 1000 Water Dragons. Ethan aims to create worlds by becoming a terraformer of sound and vision. He will live to witness the heat death of the universe.
‘FLUX’ is a film about time, or more specifically, our relationship with the perception of time. It explores how time can feel like a whirlwind: confused, rushed, and unstoppable, while simultaneously grinding to a painful halt. The main concept of the film lies in this duality, examining our experiences with time moving both too fast and too slow. They exist in flux, always overlapping, ever untameable.
‘DISFIGURE’, dir. Jacob Goode.
An experimental short film based on the works of artists Francis Bacon and Jesse Kanda. The film forgoes narrative, instead aiming to disorientate and tranfix the viewer by exposing them to a constant flow of blurred, sped-up, and obscured visuals.
The film, made as an emotional response to two paintings by Bacon and Kanda (‘Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X’, and ‘Trauma Babies’ ) explores the feeling of fighting for a clear image of a particular person, place, or experience.
