I've always been obsessed with films props, especially those of the sci-fi and fantasy genre, and getting my hands on replicas. This led to an interest in making them for myself which in turn took me to this course in IADT. My interests are in 3D printing, 3D design and sculpting . At home I enjoy 3D printing objects and finishing them to mimic screen accuracy. Over the past few years in college, I’ve developed a huge interest in digital design using programs such as 3DS Max and Zbrush to design my own models. I love both the digital and physical aspects of model making and wanted to incorporate both in my final year project.
The goal for my project was to have two wearable helmets that tie with the existing aesthetic of the Star Wars universe, one being a hero prop version with the other being a weathered and damaged version. The character, Tarre Vizsla, is both a Mandalorian warrior and Jedi Knight, so the main task of the project was tying together those two ideologies and creating an object that reflects it.
