I am a final year Creative Computing student at IADT.
My final year project (MedApp) is an application designed to be used in the medical industry. It allows patients to book medical appointments with their doctors/nurses. Doctors also have the option to create digital prescriptions for their patients. These can be verified by a pharmacist using a QR code.
A system that can be used in hospitals to manage and schedule medical appointments including digital prescriptions
MedApp is the application I developed as part of my final year research project. It is an all-in-one system that can be used in hospitals to manage and schedule medical appointments between patients and their medical professionals (doctors or nurses). It also has the additional benefit of allowing doctors to provide their patients with a digital alternative to traditional prescriptions. This is generated when the doctor fills out a form to create a new prescription. Once this is created, a QR code is generated which can then be used at a pharmacy to retrieve medication. The pharmacist has their own QR code scanner to verify the prescription and update the collection status. This is a simple step to avoid a single-use prescription from being used more than once, or at another pharmacy.

My thesis contains a detailed outline of the research, design, implementation and testing carried out during the project development lifecycle. I also discussed the project management and future development of the idea.
