BA [Hons] Animation

I am Olga, 2D animator, painter and filmmaker. I am passionate about creating interesting and emotional stories using animation, color and experimental texturing as well as to mix different media, such as digital art, collages and classical media. (pastels, watercolors, oil paint). I am now looking to use the skills I’ve learnt over the last 4 years in IADT.

Short graduation film "My Ocean of Memories"

In my fourth year I directed an animated short film called "My Ocean of Memories". I worked on all stages of production, from character design and storyboarding to animation and composing. The film is a combination of digital and traditional media. Animation was done in TVPaint and some boiling textures were painted by watercolours.

Originally 7 min long, telling a story of the young water spirit, who forgot her past and is trying to put together all the pieces of her memories. She will travel through time and space in an exciting journal of illusions and flashbacks, and it will require courage to connect with all the pieces of her life.

I was investigating the theme of the memory and what happens when someone has lost their memories. What kind of feelings, emotions and fears our brain develops. And what to do when memories are not only good but also sad as well. Is it better to be empty and calm or reveal the past and become whole again. To bring all the pieces together.
