BA [Hons] Film + Television Production
A self-described writer, director and producer with a yearning for passion. This year, I graduated from IADT with a Bachelors in Film & TV, specialising in TV.
The opening of my graduation project, Parnell Street, a live TV show I wrote, directed and produced.
The title sequence for the show. The minimalist font and urban setting set the tone for what was to come.
The introduction of Laura Prendergast as "Alice". She recounts the story of a chance encounter with a girl, "Ciara", at a bus stop, unaware of how different her life will be because of it.
The introduction of Laura Whelan as "Ciara". She recounts the story of breaking up with "Alice", eight months after they first met.
The live nature of the show meant that the cast had to learn ten pages of dialogue off by heart, over a thousand words each.
Due to Covid restrictions, I could never meet with the actors in person. This meant weekly online rehearsals over six months in order to get the performances right.
From the original pitch to filming, the show took eight months to complete, coincidentally the same amount of time that the show encompasses.
By far the ambitious project I've ever undertaken, the show required a lot of time and effort and I was lucky enough to get a cast and crew committed enough to see it through to the end.
