Andy Sherlow 

BA [Hons] Film + Television Production

Andy Sherlow is a Scottish director and screenwriter based in Dublin. With a background in performative theatre arts as an actor, Andy in passionate about crafting stories weighted in reality, looking at small stories with profound consequences. Andy’s NFS graduation film We’re Blood is a gritty drama that explores familial bonds and what we will sacrifice to help the ones we love.

'We're Blood' is a social realist drama about a young man who is confronted with a dilemma of choosing his own future or covering up his family's mistakes.
'The Other Side of Town' follows a young photographer living in a deprived area of Dublin as he captures the beauty in the mundane through the lens of his camera. His life proves challenging as a local gang terrorise the community.
'Can't buy your freedom' is a short documentary focusing on two boxing trainers coaching at Docklands Boxing Club. The battle to prepare the young boxers for the fight outside of the ring prove Philip and Jimmy's worth as trainers and father figures.
'Legatum' is an experimental art film looking at a altered dystopian reality exploring the importance of legacy and death. Created during lockdown with minature sets.
Project Description

18-year-old Tommy is hoping to go to college. He is bright and ambitious enough to achieve his goal but his world is thrown into disarray when his big brother JJ, whom he idolises, gets arrested. A talented and charismatic boxer, JJ denies his violent crime. As JJ’s involvement becomes irrefutable, Tommy must choose between his family and his future. Set in contemporary Dublin, this story explores themes of fraternal loyalty, domestic violence and morality.
