Sam Ardiff

BA [Hons] Visual Communication Design

Hello! I'm Sam and I have a passion for creating strong and simple outputs across print and screen. I have a particular interest in visual identity design, image making and typography. Research and a sense of curiosity are important to my process where I try to achieve a balance between systems thinking and what it is that is unique about each project. Where possible, I also look to how an emotional connection can be made with the audience. I have an attention to detail and am eager to learn and work in a studio environment. My work has been featured in The Irish Times and The 100 Archive.

Project Description

As technology continues to reshape the world there is fear of the line between what is real and what is not being blurred further.
According to the Behaviour and Attitudes report featured in The Irish Times in March 2023, the tech reliance during COVID 19 created a new norm with technology now increasingly being used as a ‘pacifier’ and a ‘ritual to escape’. Apps on our phones are designed to take up our time and attention which can result in passive scrolling, feelings of overload and can leave us in a distracted state.

Reclaim Your Soul is a movement promoting voluntary digital disconnection. It imagines an 'offline nation' where we create a better balance between tech usage and the other aspects of our lives in the real world. The movement advocates taking back control of your time and attention and experiencing life in the moment.
