Lisa Folschette is a lens-based artist from Luxembourg. Her work engages with traumas, mental illness and how those feelings affect the body. She is intrigued by the fragile and unconscious human experience. She finds value in pushing her boundaries and exploring experimental practice.

Pole Pole

Lisa Folschette's Project Pole Pole is a personal and emotional exploration of loss and identity. Throughout her childhood and youth, her mother spent most of her time in mental health hospitals. In 2021, her mother suddenly passed away. Folschette is exploring her current stage of grief and is trying to recognize her mother's emotional well-being. Pole Pole (slowly, slowly) is a saying her parents referred to, whenever a difficult situation occurred. It as well broke the seriousness of the situation, which made them smirk.
