BA [Hons] Production Design

I studied Production Design at IADT and had the pleasure of production designing two NFS grad films this year; "Vixen" directed by Tadhg McDonagh Cunningham and "End of the World Tour" directed by Aisha Bolaji. In 2022, I completed a four-month internship with Trip to the Moon Films in Amsterdam, gaining valuable experience and insight into the film industry. I am very passionate about storytelling and eager to continue learning and gaining experience in all aspects of film the film industry.

Project Description

For the first half of my major I worked on End of the World Tour (directed by Aisha Bolaji) as production designer. This was a very rewarding experience for me as the script allowed for a very vibrant and fun aesthetic, with multiple fantasy sequences which were shot in studio.
For the second half of my major, I designed a potential set for Huis Clos by Jean-Paul Sartre for screen. Above, I have included several autocad renderings of my finished design.

The Lolita Complex: Selective Adultification of Girls in American Films of the 1990s

In my thesis, the focus was on examining the impact of sexism and misogyny in American media during the 1990s on American culture as a whole. I analyzed four American films from this era, namely American Beauty, Poison Ivy, Lolita, and The Crush, to illustrate how these works contributed to the propagation of gender-based discrimination and hostility in American society. Through a comprehensive analysis of the themes, characters, and plotlines in each film, I discussed how they reinforce harmful stereotypes and attitudes towards women. My thesis also explored the ways in which such media representations can influence public opinion, and how this has contributed to the perpetuation of gender-based inequality in society.
